Evaluation

My first stage in my project was to inform my ideas, this was done by completing research into potential careers and job opportunities in the industry. Throughout the course of this unit, I have researched into my future options at many different points in separate ways, looking at websites, having talks within college about future options, and doing my own personal comparisons of the different routes I could go in my future. First, there was a post in the teams channel posted by one of my lecturers (Neil Wilson) which was a link to a BBC apprenticeship option . I investigated this specific apprenticeship and thought it was a fantastic opportunity to get experience in the media industry while still getting paid as well as getting another level3 qualification and I plan to do this apprenticeship assuming my application is accepted. The apprenticeship would involve getting hands-on experience as a technical broadcast operator in the studio, on location and behind the camera as well as h...

'Storyboarding Masterclass' By Sam Horton In todays lesson we had an online talk with storyboard artist Sam Horton. We were given many insights into the industry and learned many things about storyboarding and the different uses of storyboards. The above image is Sam Horton's online profile. I used this profile to learn some things about Sam and hat he does. From this profile I have learned that he has been working within the storyboarding industry for 8 years and has had experience storyboarding for many types of media and types of animation. I also learned what type of software he uses and what clients he has worked with. Software's he use are: Storyboard Pro, Photoshop and PanelForge. Clients he has worked with are: Aardman, Jellyfish Pictures, Blink Ink, Wild Seed and Lupos. This profile was very well designed, it gives good information in a simple way and is not too crowded. I also think he has displayed the software's and clients was creative as he used the lo...

Website

Image
Website 1 https://20174851.wixsite.com/my-site I decided to create my website on wix.com as it is a recognised service for creating websites with little or no experience. I decided to use a wix.com template rather than creating an auto generated site and then edited different parts of the template to make it suited for the type of design I was going for. Home Page My home screen for the website includes my logo at the top center of the screen and slightly below it 3 buttons with an anchor leading to the pages of the same name. The 'portfolio' button also includes a dropdown menu which will be anchored to my different projects once they have been added. Portfolio Page   This page is currently a blank page with the title 'portfolio'. this will be updated adding title for my different projects as well as the projects being uploaded to the website. Contact Page This  page includes the title 'contact' at the top of the page followed by a form to fill to contact me wh...

Showreel

Image
Showreel research How to make a showreel: https://youtu.be/lGRDJn4IyhQ - Use your best clips - Show variety - Should be like a montage of your best clips - Try make it tell a story - Choose music carefully - Look for rhythm in your cuts - Use sound from clips - Keep it short - Keep it interesting Existing Product 1: https://youtu.be/fObJIv67xzI This showreel doesn't have any sort of title screen, it just goes straight into the clips and put some texts on screen for a few seconds to introduce the showreel. I think this is effective because no time is wasted getting into the actual showreel. The showreel didn't have any sort of order with its shots it was just a compilation of dramatic shots which I think all worked well together and kept a similar atmosphere. It also includes some dramatic music which match the shots perfectly and as the music calms down so do the clips for example when the music becomes less dramatic some scenic clips are shown and when the music climaxes again...

Research   Before I began my  business card design,  I decided to look at  examples  of other  business  cards. I also looked on different websites to learn about what they are for and  what  is  necessary  to include on  them .   Inspiration   I took inspiration from  2  different  business  cards for  m y  business  card design ( see  below) . I searched what the  size a  business  card should be and then set my background a s  that size on photoshop. I st uck  w ith  the  colour  scheme  of my logo   ( black/white/purple ) . I took inspiration from the  1 st   business  card below for the layout of my  business  card but rather than using a hexagon I used a triangle as I thought it fit better.  I took inspiration from the 2 nd  business card below for what information to put on, text layout a...
